Oops!Times Group Loses Another Editor, Misa Malawi Vice Chair Cliff Kawanga

Kawanga: Has resigned from Times Group

Times Group which recently retrenched some members of staff has been dealt a huge blow with the resignation of another editor Cliff Kawanga who was Assistant Editor for Sunday Times.

Malawi Voice tried to reach Kawanga, who is Misa Malawi Vice Chairperson on his mobile phone on Wednesday but he could not pick up his phone.

Close sources at Times Group confirmed Kawanga’s departure. Some speculated that he is going for PhD studies in the United Kingdom while others said he is heading to Football Association of Malawi.

During the campaign for MISA Malawi elections, there were rumours that the former Times Editor had secured a job with Football Association of Malawi (FAM) but FAM later issued a statement on its Facebook page that it was not true.

Writing on his Facebook, Kawanga said “There is always a time to turn the page but sometimes it is absolutely necessary to close the book.” Some comments on the page suggested that Kawanga has resigned from his position.
